Chapel Services

Funeral and memorial ceremonies may be held in one of our beautiful chapels, eliminating the need for you and your guests to travel from a separate location.

Our staff will coordinate with the funeral home of your choice to help you create a special ceremony which honors your loved one.

Mount Hope Funeral Chapel

The Mount Hope Funeral Chapel is a beautiful place to hold a funeral or memorial ceremony.

Built in 1975, the chapel includes seating for 150 guests. The stunning stained glass windows create a reverent atmosphere for remembrance and contemplation.

A service can be held in the chapel no matter where in the cemetery the burial or inurnment will take place.

Historic Abbey Chapel

The Historic Abbey Chapel is part of the Mount Hope Abbey, which was Topeka’s first mausoleum. It was built in 1927.

The chapel, in the heart of the Abbey, is constructed of elegant white marble, and is a beautiful setting for a small funeral or memorial ceremony with around 30 family and guests.

A service can be held in the chapel no matter where in the cemetery the burial or inurnment will take place.

Twilight Services

Each June-August, we offer twilight graveside services from 6:00-7:30 p.m. so families and their guests can avoid the summer heat.

Throughout the rest of the year, services can be held up to 2:30 p.m. weekdays.

Another option is to hold the service inside one of our chapels during the summer months, rather than at the graveside.

Visitations

Visitations can be held in the foyer outside the Mount Hope Funeral Chapel before or after a chapel or graveside service.

Holding a visitation at the cemetery rather than another venue eliminates the need for their guests to travel between venues.
